Covid-19 is hot on the agenda, be aware that danger could be lurking within your water pipework especially if you have not been able to carry out weekly and monthly water hygiene monitoring tasks.
Lockdown and stagnant water systems increase the risk of Legionella bacteria growth. We all want to get back to work… Let’s do it safely. Lockdown and COVID-19 will not be an excuse if someone gets hurt by a poorly managed water system. Legionnaires’ disease cannot spread from person to person and is not contagious. However it can cause severe respiratory symptoms, and can be life-threatening.
Before you reopen those showers be sure to discuss recommissioning procedures with a reputable water management company. Procedures like scheduling and sampling tap water, waiting for results and performing curative actions may take several weeks before ensuring tap water is safe to use.
By providing immediate physical barrier at the point of use water fixture, installation of disposable water filters are very effective to prevent Legionella pneumophila, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and other waterborne pathogens.
Filt’ray2G can help securing showers and other water outlets immediately, providing a 100% safe environment for employees and enough time (1 – 4 months) to assess the risk at hand. These filters are developed to ensure a homogeneous and pleasant flow. Conical jets prevent any aerosol formation and eliminate splash over. Furthermore sterile versions are available.
The patented Bubl’Air Wash™ technology has been developed as a self-cleaning mechanism which introduces turbulent flow during filtration to keep particulates from becoming fully trapped on the membrane and permits the filters to have long life use. A new 62-day point-of-use filter has been introduced that is a tubular membrane microfilter with a 0.1 um pore size. During filtration step, domestic water goes through microfiltration membrane, the water velocity triggers the turbulence phenomenon permitting the suspension of solid particles out of the membrane surface.
