R&D Project Leader
– Rumbeke –
Desotec’s mission is to protect our planet. We provide end-to-end purification solutions for pollution in air, water and other gases and liquids. We do this by supplying mobile activated carbon filters to our B2B customers across Europe.
We recycle our own saturated filters by taking back the spent activated carbon for reactivation, making our filter solutions circular.
Because of our continuous growth story, we’re currently looking for a R&D Project Leader to strengthen our current R&D team.
As R&D Project Leader you are able to manage Desotec’s R&D projects and initiatives. In this critical function, you support the fast growth of the company and are responsible for a number of key tasks & responsibilities:
You develop and manage projects in a structured way to deepen Desotec’s knowledge on adsorption technology;
You monitor planning & timeline and work according to the right priorities;
You manage pilot and field tests in collaboration with business development, sales and purchasing;
You maintain contacts with universities and research institutes;
You model and assess the performance & life expectancy of our filters;
You focus on the characterisation of activated carbon & investigate adsorption reactions;
You develop and apply analytical lab methods for applications in our different target markets;
You follow and assess alternative purification technologies;
You are part of (and will of course collaborate with) the R&D team and you report to the R&D manager;
Does this varied job description sound like your cup of tea? Then read on and see if you fit the profile we are looking for!
You have a master’s degree in Sciences or in Engineering ideally (although we’re also open to consider other types of master’s degrees).
You have relevant experience in R&D in an industrial environment. Experience with adsorptive technology or analytical chemistry is a plus;
You are fluent in English and Dutch, both orally and in writing. Every additional language is an asset;
You have a hands-on mentality and you are eager to learn and love to explore new things.
You are also decisive so you don’t get stuck in (figuring out all the) details;
You are a team player but you are also someone who enjoys working independently.
You have an analytical mindset but are able to contextualise findings and solutions in the commercial/economic reality;
You are willing to travel within Europe (estimation: once every 2-3 months) to attend a congress or a lab abroad f.ex.
It goes without saying that in exchange for your unbridled dedication and enthusiasm, you will get a lot back from us. Too much to mention in fact.
Below is an attempt to summarize exactly what we can offer you. Important side note: this list is not exhaustive! 😉
